Students at Burnett Creek Elementary School have access to more technology-based tools to create and design thanks to a joint initiative with Purdue University's Indiana Next Generation Manufacturing Competitiveness Center (IN-MaC). Burnett Creek is one of only two schools in the country with a Wonder Lab Jr.
Burnett Creek Principal Matt Ridenour, with the help of his staff and Parent-Teacher Organization, converted a former computer lab into a place where students can try and fail and try again as they learn. The Wonder Lab features 10 3D printers, along with other software and STEAM education kits. He says parent and Purdue University Associate Professor Jin Kim was instrumental in establishing the lab and training staff.
