The Tippecanoe School Corporation has appointed Tami Jacobs as an assistant principal at Burnett Creek Elementary School. Jacobs fills the position vacated by Pamela Chambers who was named a principal in the Sunman-Dearborn School Corporation.
Jacobs has 10 years of teaching experience, the last two years as a fifth-grade teacher at Burnett Creek. She holds a bachelor's degree from Purdue University and a master's degree from Ball State University.
Principal Matt Ridenour says Jacobs stood out from the other candidates because of her experience and her genuine passion for supporting the staff. As assistant principal, Jacobs will oversee student discipline, special education, support staff and other duties at the school of more than 700 students.
Jacobs says she is excited to have the opportunity to be an assistant principal at Burnett Creek. "This position will allow me to continue building relationships within the Burnett Creek community, as well as build upon the positive school culture and climate."
